Moscow%20court%20revokes%20Novaya%20Gazeta%u2019s%20licence%20to%20publish%20inside%20Russia%20%7C%20Russia%20%7C%20The%20Guardian: A%20court%20in%20Moscow%20has%20stripped%20Novaya%20Gazeta%20of%20its%20print%20media%20licence%2C%20effectively%20banning%20the%20newspaper%20from%20operating%20inside%20Russia%2C%20less%20than%20a%20year%20after%20its%20editor-in-chief%2C%20Dmitry%20Muratov%2C%20won%20the%202021%20Nobel%20peace%20prize.%0A%0ARussia%u2019s%20media%20regulator%2C%20Roskomnadzor%2C%20had%20accused%20the%20publication%20of%20failing%20to%20provide%20documents%20related%20to%20a%20change%20of%20ownership%20in%202006.%0A%0ASpeaking%20outside%20court%2C%20Muratov%20said%20the%20ruling%20was%20%u201Ca%20political%20hit%20job%2C%20without%20the%20slightest%20legal%20basis%u201D.%20He%20said%20the%20paper%20would%20appeal.%0A%0AIn%20a%20separate%20ruling%20next%20week%2C%20a%20Moscow%20court%20will%20decide%20whether%20to%20also%20revoke%20the%20licence%20for%20Novaya%20Gazeta%u2019s%20website.%0A%0ANovaya%20Gazeta%20is%20one%20of%20the%20country%u2019s%20most%20important%20independent%20publications.%20Since%20it%20was%20established%20by%20Muratov%20and%20colleagues%20in%201993%2C%20it%20has%20investigated%20corruption%20inside%20and%20outside%20Russia%2C%20as%20well%20as%20the%20wars%20in%20Chechnya.%20A%20number%20of%20its%20journalists%2C%20including%20Anna%20Politkovskaya%2C%20have%20been%20killed%20since%20the%201990s%20in%20retaliation%20for%20their%20reporting.%0A%0A
