Take a look! Historical moments in history in recolored images | DailySportX: The little Ruby Bridges and its U.S. Marshal companion
It's amazing how a little girl helped with the civil rights movement. Ruby Bridges was the first black student to take on a desegregated primary school in the south. The Federal Marshals had to escort them to class for their own safety, even though their home was only a few blocks from school. The little girl had to deal with racists every day. White parents wanted to take their children out of class when she studied with them. A few years later, she graduated from a deregulated high school. She founded the Ruby Bridges Foundation to work for change and tolerance.
