IPA%20%7C%20IPA%20issues%20response%20to%20King%u2019s%20Speech%202024: The%20IPA%20has%20issued%20its%20response%20to%20some%20of%20the%20elements%20announced%20in%20the%20King%u2019s%20Speech.%20These%20include%20the%20announcement%20of%20legislation%20to%20restrict%20the%20advertising%20of%20less%20healthy%20foods%20to%20children%2C%20reform%20to%20the%20Apprenticeship%20Levy%20and%20of%20changes%20to%20employment%20rights.%0A%0ASays%20IPA%20Director%20General%20Paul%20Bainsfair%3A%0A%0A%u201CWe%20very%20much%20welcome%20Labour%u2019s%20Growth%20agenda%2C%20as%20highlighted%20in%20the%20King%u2019s%20Speech%20today.%20As%20we%20know%2C%20advertising%20is%20a%20lever%20for%20growth%20and%20so%20we%20look%20forward%20to%20working%20with%20them%20to%20progress%20our%20mutual%20success.%0A%0A%u201CWith%20regards%20to%20some%20specific%20points%20made%20today%3A%0A%0A%u201CWe%20worked%20with%20the%20previous%20Government%2C%20and%20look%20forward%20to%20working%20with%20the%20new%20one%2C%20on%20implementing%20the%20restrictions%20on%20ads%20for%20less%20healthy%20foods.%20However%2C%20we%20are%20still%20waiting%20for%20the%20Advertising%20%28Less%20Healthy%20Food%20Definitions%20and%20Exemptions%29%20Regulations%20to%20be%20passed%20so%20that%20agencies%20and%20advertisers%20can%20understand%20which%20products%20will%20be%20in%20scope%20of%20the%20restrictions%20and%20any%20exemptions%20that%20may%20apply.%20We%20called%20on%20the%20previous%20Government%2C%20several%20times%2C%20to%20bring%20in%20those%20regulations%2C%20but%20to%20no%20avail.%20We%20hope%20that%20the%20new%20Government%20will%20bring%20them%20in%20as%20a%20matter%20of%20urgency.%0A%0A%u201CRegarding%20the%20changes%20to%20the%20Apprenticeship%20Levy%2C%20as%20we%20have%20stated%20previously%2C%20while%20we%20support%20apprenticeships%2C%20we%20have%20requested%20greater%20flexibility%20on%20how%20agencies%20can%20use%20the%20Levy%20and%20look%20forward%20to%20learning%20how%20Labour%u2019s%20new%20reform%20may%20better%20suit%20our%20industry%u2019s%20needs.%0A%0A%u201CIn%20terms%20of%20the%20Employment%20Rights%20Bill%2C%20while%20we%20appreciate%20that%20the%20purpose%20of%20this%20Bill%20is%20to%20strengthen%20workers%27%20rights%2C%20we%20would%20ask%20for%20a%20sensible%20balance%20to%20be%20struck%20in%20order%20that%20businesses%20have%20the%20flexibility%20to%20grow%20and%20are%20not%20hampered%20by%20further%20onerous%20obligations.%u201D%0A%0A
