It’s Not Just Parasite: Watch the Other South Korean Film Poised to Make Oscar History | Vanity Fair: In April 2014, the MV Sewol—a ferry boat carrying 476 passengers and crew—began slowly sinking in the Yellow Sea. The documentary juxtaposes helicopter footage of the sinking and text messages from passengers trapped inside with recorded phone calls between the government officials who badly botched the rescue. On board, passengers followed instructions to stay in their cabins while the captain and the crew abandoned ship. Ultimately, 304 people died, including 250 teenagers.
