Yahoo Launches Video Sharing; Becomes Like 50 Other Sites: "Yahoo has retooled its still-anemic efforts in video, and have launched a uploading/sharing service, a la YouTube, Grouper, Veoh, MySpace Video, AOL UnCut, Google Video, and countless others in the mix. I guess they decided no point buying any one of these worthless sites (I’m extrapolating for effect), or even enables something similar within Flickr (messing with the present mix probably makes some sense in the short term) and hack one together on their own.

Because of copyright and adult fears, Yahoo editors will screen all the clips that are featured on the service’s front page. One thing Yahoo is doing slightly differently: it is aggregating videos from other sites as well, such as iFilm, PlanetVids, Grouper etc.

FT/MarketWatch: The company said it would stand out from its competitors in also being able to offer content created by its internal media group and direct feeds from partners such as Walt Disney, HBO, Viacom and Warner Brothers.
