CBS To Debut Broadband Channel; Upfronts In Mind

CBS To Debut Broadband Channel; Upfronts In Mind: "CBS is supposed to launch a broadband channel today, with an eye on ad upfronts in two week…the channel will have mainly original content, with some material connected to programming currently on CBS.  The site will most likely not launch with full-length episodes of shows…although the network plans to stream full-length episodes of shows online in the future, the story says.

Variety: The channel could possibly have some network shows after they air on CBS-affiliated stations. On original program:  one such program could be a talent hunt: ‘I Want to Be A Soap Star’ that would give aspiring actors aged 18 to 25 a chance to live together in NYC and compete to win a 13-week role on CBS show ‘As the World Turns.’

More later today as the news unfolds…
